I've been away from home so much visiting my mom and uncle in California that I have not been able to do much stamping (or work on learning how to add new do-dads to this blog). However, I was home to prepare for a Stampin' Baby Shower for a dear friend last month and I want to share those projects with you! Today I will show you the invitation:

The invitation is really a MDS hybrid.
I used MDS to create the camoflage background pattern and the "You're Invited!"
words, then cut both using the Big Shot and the  Labels Collection Framelits  (#125598, $26.95 for set of 6)
The parasol is a retired stamp I embossed with a metallic I created by mixing
Early Espresso Embossing Powder (#128980, $4.75) and Gold Embossing Powder (#109129, $4.75)
It creates a vintage-look antique bronze!
The "it's a shower" stamp is from the new "Cuddles & Kisses" baby sentiments set
(#127312 WM, $25.95;  #127314 CM, $18.95)
After adhering the camoflage shape to the Old Olive background  panel, I ran it through the Big Shot
with the Square Lattice  Embossing Folder (#119976, $7.95)

The inside of the invitation card is a folded square of paper
that opens up.  It is called an "explosion card" and
is really easy to make! I used My Digital Studio
to create my insert using digital stampbrushes,
and text for all the information. Below is the open invitation.

HAPPY MAY DAY! The lists of retiring stamps and accessories is up and some accessories are already sold out, some are on sale, and some favorite product lines are going away, sniff sniff! I am so sad to see our fabric and Stampin' Sound Cards go, but if you are quick you can still snag some and they are discounted too!

There is more happy news: a new special started today, 25% off selected digital downloads for MDS!

Visit my online store to find out more about retiring products, sales and specials!

For my local friends and customers, I am still out of state - right now I am on a train from San Diego up to Camarillo, where my mom lives. I'll be heading back home a couple of days after Mother's Day. If you have a question just email me!
