A LITTLE CHRISTMAS LEFTOVER...PART 1: ELVES & SNOWMEN

Okay, I admit it - the holidays took over and I did not post as I had planned. The good news is that there will be another Christmas this year and it will be here before we know it - so here are some project ideas to get you started really, really early!
I made these candy treats for holiday craft fairs. They are fun, easy (maybe a little time consuming) and guaranteed to be a hit with anyone who receives one! I did use some non-SU! papers from my stash for the elf hats, but all the other cardstock is SU! and mostly current colors. That info is in the captions.
I also used a couple of retired punches - but at least as of today, those are on the Clearance Rack so you can pop over there with the link to my store and grab 'em while you can, if you don't already have them! They are the Ornament Punch (#119847, $10.19) and the Blossom Petals Punch (#121808, $10.19).
The cellophane treat bags are Stampin' Up!'s 1" x 8" bags and they are a great buy at 50 for only $2.50! (#124134). M&M size candies automatically stack up when you drop them into a bag so it's easy to play with color patterns! You can also fill them with a pencil, licorice or a candy stick. The top has a flap with a self-stick strip to seal it closed.

Meet my Christmas elves! I loved them so much I named them Peppermint, Wintergreen, Snowflake and Rainbow. Punches: Ornament (retired), Bird (ears), Petite Pennants (hat), Boho Blossoms (pompom), Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border (hat rim), 1/2 inch Circle Punch (round off ends of hat brim), 1/4" Circle Punch (half circle for nose). Cardstock: Blushing Bride (head & ears, edges sponged with matching ink color), Red, Silver and Champagne Glimmer cardstocks (hat trims). I also added sparkle to the hats with Dazzling Details - original diamond color and Cherry Cobbler. The face details were drawn with a fine tip black marker. The noses are coated with some Crystal Effects for dimension.

A snowman was the perfect topper for frosty-tasting York Peppermint Pieces! Punches used: 1 3/8" Circle (head), Artisan Label (hat - trim the deco edge off the label), Boho Blossoms (poinsettia flower), Punch Pack Circle (backing for eyes), 1/8" circle punch (three Daffodil Delight circles for flower center, Dazzling Details on top). I also used the retired Northern Frost snowflakes sizzlet to cut the Silver Glimmer cardstock snowflakes. The hat brim is a narrow strip of black cardstock. The carrot noses I cut freehand from an orange glitter paper I had - you could get the same look using Pumpkin Pie cardstock and Dazzling Details (or Dazzling Diamonds Glitter) - or if you got the Orange Glitter from the Holiday Catalog that would also work! The mouth was drawn with a black marker, and Dazzling Details made the "snow" on the hat.
